On her head, she wears a tiara which is composed of seven rays of light! These rays represent the seven regions around the globe : america, europ, africa, australia, the north pole and the south pole ! This tiara can also remind us of a crown! So the Statue can be seen as The Queen of Liberty ! In her left hand, she holds a book on which is written the date of the declaration of independance that is 4th of july 1776. This book also symbolizes the book of law, the constituion of the USA. At the foot of the statue, a poem is engraved. This poem, that was written by Emma Lazarus, aims as welcoming all new immigrants. Bartholdi was inspired by his lother when he designed the statue, that's why the statue has the face of Bartholdi's mother. C'est ça les States maintenant
